Cleanse

Whan an unusual card.

Pros: It plays into Legends' color-enmity themes, and it plays well into flavor.

Cons: It's unusually narrow, and it's asymetrical, something white's not very good at.

Compare Perish, Nature's Ruin and Virtue's Ruin, black cards that do very similar things. White and black are equally good at ruining creatures' days; there's not really a good reason -- other than "this card's too damn narrow to print" -- not to run this at 2W. Still, I'm not a huge fan of reaming an enemy color just for the sake of it; I think this card would be better off as a Wrath variant, rather than a color hoser.

There we go -- it's strictly better than Day of Judgment, but that's OK. Day's a baseline wrath effect, like how Shock is a baseline burn effect; sometimes, you'll see better board wipes. This new version is about on par with Wrath of God; Wrath punishes green -- due to its anti-regenration clause -- and black, while this punishes black. (It'll sometimes hit a phoenix, but red doesn't care a whole lot about how dead its duders are.)
